The Civil Aviation Authority has disclosed that “data anomalies” are delaying claims from the collapse of Dream World Travel.
The aviation regulator is assessing the booking data supplied by the west London-based company which will be used to process claims for Atol protected bookings.
Dream World Travel, which was licensed to carry 4,450 passengers this summer, failed on July 26 owing customers an estimated £11 million.
The CAA said in an update today (Friday): “We understand the impact that the failure of this company will have on the customers involved.
“Unfortunately, in the case of Dream World Travel, based in west London, there have been data anomalies meaning there will be a delay in opening the claims process for anyone who booked an Atol protected trip.
“We will make a further statement when we will open our online claims portal.
“When this happens, we will start to process claims as quickly as possible, but because of the anomalies, there may be delays with some large or complex bookings.
